Lennon killer is new host of MOTD2

THE man who shot John Lennon is the surprise new host of BBC’s Match of the Day 2, following the shock departure of cheeky Irish wag Colin Murray. Mark Chapman, currently serving life in prison for the murder of the former Beatle in New York back in 1980, was revealed as Murray’s successor in a shock move.

According to reports, Murray was rumoured to have “irritated guests” on the Sunday night highlights show – presumably referring to him giggling at Robbie Savage’s hair and him twice falling asleep during a Mark Lawrenson sentence. Chapman was seen as “a safe pair of hands” by BBC bosses, it is claimed. It is believed Chapman will host the show via videolink from his Sing Sing prison cell.
