WIDESCREEN ‘IS NOT FOR EAMONN’

HOLLYOAKS is to be the first soap transmitted in widescreen format. A senior producer at the Chester-based telly tottyfest denied this was to cope with the upcoming guest appearance by tubby TV host Eamonn Holmes. She said: “It’s not really because of Eamonn’s appearance on the show. More of a precaution. “We just have to cover any eventuality. He says he’ll fit on the ordinary screen but we just can’t risk it. You can’t be too careful.” A spokesman for Eamonn Holmes said: “For the last time, Eamonn is not fat, he is big-boned. “Eamonn says he is actually extremely thin and if Eamonn says that, then I for one believe him.”
